A welcome that begins at the door.
Arrive with your hands full and let an opening door be the start of a welcome-home routine. In a compatible home platform, use the open event to trigger a supported entry light. The sensor reports the change; the light provides the response. Pair both devices and create the automation before expecting the routine to run.

Fresh air, with a clearer picture.
Open the window for a morning breeze, then check its state when it is time to settle in. Window state can be a condition for supported heating, cooling or ventilation routines, depending on your platform and connected devices. This sensor does not measure rain, wind, temperature or air quality, and it does not move the window.

A little help inside the closet.
An opening closet door can trigger a compatible cabinet light; closing it can end the routine you have configured. First check the door material, movement and closed gap so the two pieces do not collide. The soft illustrated scene is an idea for everyday life, not a substitute for the installation instructions below.

One less thing to wonder about.
Pick up your bag and review door or window state in a compatible app. Where supported, add opening notifications or an away-mode check. Notifications and remote viewing depend on the platform, network and settings. A closed contact does not mean a door is locked, and it cannot tell you whether someone is at home.
Illustrations are storybook-style concept scenes; scale and placement are illustrative. All routines require compatible devices, controllers and configured rules. The sensor does not itself provide lighting, sound or mechanical actuation.
05 · STRUCTURE & STATE
Know the two pieces.
- Main body: status indicator, reset button, battery compartment and rear tamper switch.
- Magnet: align its triangle mark with the mark on the main body to detect open and closed state.
- Low-battery warning: supported by the device; display and notifications depend on the platform.
- Tamper switch: identified in the product structure; a tamper notification is not promised on every platform.
06 · MATTER OVER THREAD
Prepare your Matter home.
A compatible Matter controller and Thread border router are required. One hub may provide both roles. An ordinary Wi-Fi router is not a Thread border router, and this is not a direct Wi-Fi sensor.
The supplied manual includes Apple Home and Google Home setup flows. Check that the chosen hub supports Matter over Thread; hub capabilities vary by model. Follow the current Add Accessory or Add Device flow, as app screens change. Matter branding alone does not guarantee every notification, remote-access feature or cross-brand automation.
07 · FIRST SETUP
From power-on to pairing.
- Slide the rear cover down and remove the battery insulation film. Check that the CR2032 is firmly seated with the correct polarity.
- Set up the compatible Matter controller and Thread border router and confirm that they are online.
- In the Apple Home or Google Home add-device flow, scan the Matter setup QR code on this unit or its packaging.
- Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds, then release. Complete the app prompts. Do not share the device setup QR code publicly.
- Name the sensor and assign its room. Before permanent mounting, test both open and closed states at the intended location.
08 · INSTALLATION ESSENTIALS
Two distances. Two different meanings.
Closed-position installation gap: below 10 mm
With the door or window closed, align the triangle marks and keep the gap below 10 mm. This is the installation requirement.
Alarm triggering distance: 23 ± 5 mm
This is the listed trigger specification, not the recommended closed gap. Do not mount the pair 23 mm apart and assume installation is complete; verify both states by opening and closing the door or window.
09 · MOUNT & VERIFY
Align, mount and test.
- Install indoors on a stable surface. The supplied instructions recommend wooden doors/windows; check interference and actual performance before using metal frames.
- Place the main body on the fixed frame and the magnet on the moving door or window panel.
- Clean the mounting surfaces and let them dry. Apply the 3M adhesive to smooth, dust-free surfaces and press firmly.
- Align the triangle marks, keep the closed gap below 10 mm, and check that the two pieces never collide during movement.
- Keep magnets and interfering magnetic metal away. Do not install outdoors, in rain or on an unstable base.
- Confirm Closed and Open separately in the app, then test the configured routine. Reposition and repeat if state reporting is unreliable.
10 · CARE & SAFETY
A small battery deserves careful handling.
Use a DC 3 V CR2032 battery and follow the polarity markings in the compartment. When a low-battery alert appears, fit a new battery of the same type, close the cover and test state reporting. No fixed battery-life duration is stated here because the supplied manual does not substantiate one.
- Keep coin cells and small loose parts away from children and pets, including used batteries.
- Do not recharge disposable cells, short-circuit, heat, burn or dismantle the battery.
- Use a soft dry cloth. Avoid solvents, water ingress and drops.
- This sensor reports contact state; it does not replace a lock, professional intrusion alarm or life-safety system.
11 · QUESTIONS & TROUBLESHOOTING
A few checks, before you start again.
Cannot add the sensor?
Check the insulation film, battery polarity, controller and Thread border router. Confirm the QR code belongs to this device. Test near the hub, hold reset for 5 seconds, release and follow the app prompts to retry.
Closed door, but the app says open?
Check the triangle marks, closed gap, adhesive stability and nearby magnetic metal. Reposition the pair and verify both open and closed state, not just one.
Why does the light not respond?
First confirm that contact state updates correctly. Then check whether the automation is enabled, the light is online and the platform supports the condition and action. The sensor does not create automation rules automatically.
Offline or low battery?
Check CR2032 charge and contact, plus controller and Thread border router power. Test again after replacing the battery. If necessary, follow the app process to add the device again.
Does closed mean locked?
No. It senses the relative open/closed state of the main body and magnet, not the lock bolt, security of the lock or human presence.
Are all features available on every platform?
No blanket guarantee is made. A compatible Matter controller and Thread border router are required; notifications, automation, remote access and tamper display depend on actual platform support.
