Some switches are designed only to be pressed. JINK Switch EGG is designed to make that everyday gesture part of the interior—through physical clarity, connected control and a surface that carries the memory of how it was made.
Not painted. Reacted.
Hand-finished brass is not a flat color applied over metal. The character comes from controlled chemical etching and patination: the brass surface is cleaned, activated and encouraged to react in a carefully directed way. The result has genuine tonal depth because the color develops with the metal rather than simply sitting on top of it.
That distinction is visible at close range. Highlights, darker recesses and mineral-like transitions respond differently as light moves across the faceplate. The switch feels quieter from a distance and more detailed as you approach it.
Six stages, one controlled surface
- Clean and degrease. Oils and contaminants are removed so the reaction can begin evenly.
- Activate and lightly etch. A controlled chemical treatment prepares the brass surface for stable coloration.
- Build the patina in layers. The finish is developed toward the intended family of gold, dark bronze, verdigris or charcoal tones.
- Rinse and neutralize. The reaction is stopped and residues are removed.
- Reveal the pattern by hand. Selective relief and tonal adjustment create the relationship between highlights and depth.
- Dry and protect. After thorough drying, a protective finish is applied for practical everyday use.
Exact chemistry, timing and layer count are calibrated for each target finish and production batch. They remain part of JINK's controlled finishing process.
Why every faceplate is slightly different
Brass condition, reaction speed, hand pressure and environmental factors all leave subtle traces. Natural movement in texture and tone is therefore an intentional characteristic of the collection—not a print defect. JINK controls the quality and direction of the finish without erasing the material's own expression.
Four signature finishes, a broader project palette
Antique Moonlight
Soft gold with a calm, time-worn depth.
Gilded Blossom
Bright contrast with a granular, floral character.
Verdigris Tide
Cool mineral tones inspired by naturally aged copper.
Charcoal Patina
A restrained graphite-black surface with quiet tonal movement.
The current online collection presents four signature hand-finished brass options. Across the broader project system, JINK Switch EGG spans approximately 100 SKU color and configuration combinations. This figure describes combinations of finish, material, key layout and control type; it does not mean 100 stocked brass colors are immediately available online. Final selections should be confirmed by color card, physical sample and project configuration.
Made to belong in the room
Beside dark stone, the surface feels grounded. Against timber, it becomes warmer. With microcement, leather or warm metal details, the patina changes gently with the light. The goal is not to make the switch dominate a wall, but to make it worth noticing when someone comes closer.
Material presence, built around real control
JINK Switch EGG is more than a decorative plate. It preserves immediate physical operation and is available in three control formats:
- 3-Key / 3-Relay for three wired relay channels.
- 6-Key / 3-Relay for six physical keys and three wired relay channels.
- Wireless Scene 6-Key for programmable connected scenes.
The 86 mm standard series measures 85.8 × 86 × 37.55 mm. Wired models support 100–275 V AC, 50/60 Hz, with a maximum load of 16 A / 2000 W.
Matter over Thread, quietly integrated
JINK Switch EGG uses Matter over Thread for connected control. A compatible Matter controller with a Thread Border Router is required. Platform features and control behavior can vary by selected configuration and project system, so the exact model should be confirmed before ordering.
This is the JINK approach: make the switch reliable as a switch first, then let connected intelligence sit quietly behind the experience.
Care for a hand-finished surface
- Wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp lint-free cloth.
- Avoid abrasive pads, polishing compounds and strongly acidic or alkaline cleaners.
- Do not use a single screen image as the acceptance standard for a hand-finished surface.
- For projects, approve a physical color card or sample before final batch confirmation.
